Salt tolerant sod

IDOT CERTIFIED SOD for PUBLIC ROADSIDE USE

The Illinois Department of Transportation and many municipalities require a different species mix of grass for sodding the side of roads, since the Winter road salt will often get into the parkways and kill Kentucky Blue Grass. A blend of tall fescue, red fescue, and buffalo grass can better tolerate the salt. IDOT and many villages require a salt tolerant sod finishing road construction or redoing roadside landscaping. Salt tolerant sod will immediately help erosion control on the sides or roads, and will better survive inadvertent road salt. Greener Gardens Sod Farm has IDOT approved salt tolerant sod ready for sale. Landscaping sub-contractors can call 815-469-9421 for pricing details.
